Cultural Home exists to keep your family's records safe. That only works if you know exactly what we collect and who can see it. This is written plainly on purpose.
What we collect
When you apply for a founding place: your name, email address, who you're keeping the archive for, which option you're interested in, and anything you write in the notes field.
When you use Cultural Home: the photographs, recordings, documents, recipes, names, dates and relationships you and your family add. Basic technical information needed to run the service — sign-in times, device and browser type, IP address.
We do not collect payment card details. Payments are handled by Stripe, and card numbers never reach our systems.
Why we collect it
To reply to you, to run your family's archive, to keep it secure, and to tell you about your own account. That's the whole list.
Who can see it
Your archive is private to your household. Shared rooms are visible to the relatives you invite. A Bedroom is visible only to its owner, and to any heir that owner has chosen and activated.
Jasmine Ballard, as the operator of Cultural Home, may access account records to provide support, resolve a problem, or when required by law. We will not browse your family's archive for any other reason.
What we will never do
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use your family's photographs, recordings or documents to train artificial intelligence models — not ours, not anybody else's.
Who we work with
We use a small number of service providers to operate: hosting and database (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email delivery (Resend), and application hosting (Lovable). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Keeping it
We keep your archive for as long as your account is active. You can export everything at any time in open, standard formats. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep records of a transaction.
Children
Cultural Home is for adults. A person under 18 may appear in a family archive — that's the nature of family — but accounts must be held by someone 18 or older.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, export it, or delete it. Write to privacy@myculturalhome.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
